It's been a busy, busy summer! Almost as soon as we got home from Guatemala, the summer craziness started. Once Jeremy and the kids are back in school and things slow down a bit, I'll get back to regular posting. But for now, here are a few pictures of some of the things we've been doing.
First, Maya graduated from preschool.
*Sigh*
*Sigh*
I swear it was just 5 minutes ago that Kaylee graduated from preschool, and we looked at little two-year-old Maya and said, "In just a few years, you can come to preschool too!"
And now, little Maya is growing up too. If I'm this emotional with preschool graduation, high school graduation is not going to be pretty. Not pretty at all.
And speaking of kids growing up, a few weeks ago, Kaylee turned 7.
SEVEN!!

What????
How is this possible???
How is this possible???
It's not funny. It's really really not funny how fast my kids are growing up.
But at the same time, as they get older, they get to do more things like this:

How cute is this!

I have loved every second of cheering for them, sharing these new experiences with them, and watching them learn so much and have so much fun.
And if I'm honest, I will admit that seeing my little girl smack a nice line drive down the third baseline brings out strange and very powerful emotions. Maybe it's because I've never been very good at sports or maybe I'm on my way to becoming one of those crazy sports moms, but I'm telling you, it's at that moment that you have involuntary visions of your child's future in the sport.
Yes, she'll be a superstar. Or an Olympian. She'll get a college scholarship for sure.
What? She's only 7?
Oh yeah, that's right. She's more concerned about whether or not she can get a slushy from the snack bar after the game.
We also recently got to watch a little soccer, but not the competitive kind.

Okay, it was a little competitive. But more than that, it was a reunion for two friends who've been through a lot together and who are finally able to play in total freedom without the worries and pressures that they've both carried for a long time.
Yeah, it's been a good summer.
A really busy, really good summer.

And more good things to come...
